Stawamus Chief Campground

The Chief is a 700 m granite monolith at the southern entrance to Squamish, one of the largest in the world, and this campground sits at its base. Climbers come for routes of international standing, and hiking trails run to all three summits for views over Howe Sound and the town.

There are 109 sites, first come, first served, with paved access, pit toilets and potable water. Peregrine falcons nest on the walls, so some climbing routes carry seasonal restrictions; watch the posted notices and give the birds room.

Squamish is about 2.3 km away with fuel at the Squamish Valley Gas Bar about 1.6 km, so supplies are a short hop. The Squamish trail network, 293 trails, starts about 2.5 km from camp, Petgill Lake is about 3.5 km off, and the Brohm Lake interpretive trails about 15 km.
