About this site
SourceRaft Cove is a wild piece of the northwest coast of Vancouver Island, and the tent pads put you where the Macjack River meets a long bend of sand. Surfing, fishing and beach walking at low tide are what people come for.
Camping runs as a mix of reservable and first come, first served. Facilities stay minimal: pit toilets and fire pits, with hiking from camp and swimming and a boat launch on the list. This shore takes the full weight of Pacific storms at any time of year, so proper rain gear matters more than an extra chair.
Winter Harbour is about 15.8 km away, but the nearest fuel is a Co-op about 53.7 km off, so fill up long before you get here. The Cape Scott Trailhead is about 11.4 km from camp and Moore Lake about 10.7 km.
