About this site

Source

Cape Scott Provincial Park is the rugged coastal wilderness at the northwestern tip of Vancouver Island: more than 115 km of ocean frontage, about 30 km of it remote white-sand beach, stretching from Shushartie Bay around the cape to San Josef Bay. Nels Bight alone runs 2,400 m long and 210 m wide at low tide.

This is hike-in wilderness camping, salt marsh and jagged headland country, named for the lighthouse that has guided mariners here since 1960 and protected as a park since 1973. Fishing, swimming off the beaches, and long days of walking are the program.

Holberg, the last community, is about 21 km from the park listing point and the nearest listed fuel about 46 km, back toward Port Hardy. Provision like the weather might win.
