About this site
SourceThis is the Mahood Lake corner of Wells Gray Provincial Park, the big Cariboo Mountains wilderness known for waterfalls, old-growth rainforest and alpine meadows. Mahood Lake anchors its own separate corner of the park.
Across its campgrounds the park lists about 167 vehicle sites, some reservable and some first come, first served, with paved access. Days here revolve around the water: boating, canoeing and kayaking, plus hiking that scales from short walks to serious backcountry trips and wildlife viewing in between.
Come provisioned. The nearest listed community, Hendrix Lake, is about 49 km away and fuel is about 54 km, so this is a fill-the-tank, pack-it-all trip.
