About this site
SourceSkihist Provincial Park hangs above the Thompson Canyon near Lytton, with big views down the canyon and quiet walking on the old Cariboo Wagon Road. It started as a highway stopover in 1956 and still works perfectly as one, but river people know it as a base for rafting and fishing the Thompson.
About 58 sites are listed, a mix of reservable and first come, first served, and the campsites were rebuilt for today's bigger rigs. An introduced elk herd lives nearby, and guided rafting can be arranged in Lytton or Spences Bridge.
The nearest listed fuel is about 5 km away, so topping up is quick even mid-trip.
