About this site
SourceChaunigan Lake sits within the declared title lands of the Tsilhqot'in and Xeni Gwet'in First Nation, whose name for this place is Tsanlgen. Check with the Xeni Gwet'in for current access notices before you go, because access to title lands can change.
Getting in wants a 4x4; this is not a road for a low car or a loaded trailer. There are 6 sites, first come, first served, with fishing and swimming on the lake.
Xeni is about 14 km away and the Xeni Gwet'in Gas Station is right there, which makes it the practical place to fuel up and buy anything else. Konni Lake is about 13 km off.
