About this site
SourceTall aspens line Lightning Creek, and the camping follows it: two areas down by the water and several more spread along the access road, in the Quesnel area.
There are 7 sites, first come, first served, with gravel access. People come here to pan for gold, but the ground is part of an active mining claim, so read the posted recreation notices before you start digging.
Cottonwood is about 7 km away and gas is a longer run at about 25 km. Porcupine Lake is about 2 km off, and Quesnel, with 36 mountain bike trails, about 29 km.
